I wonder what you think about "a lot of humans might die due to disintegration of economics - society - food production/transport" (in this order). I thought there must be some inertia and if shit really hit the fan may be govts will suspend financial elite and prioretize real sectors like truely vital transportation etc.
What do you think, are our "elites" overlyoptimistic about global civilization or secretely realistic?
Was there any congress hearing on "death by economics" like they had on peak oil in 2006 or so?
Any interesting papers from shady corners of the web?

I think our political system is too dysfunctional to even try to address such a crisis.
The alternative, imo, is to build as much local/ community infrastructure as possible.
