Interesting meditation today... you’re right, I think, about the impulse to concretize in the American psyche. Which is one lense for viewing conspiracy. It’s a kind of literalism that betrays a deficit in the perception of the distal cause. This is a rich area to mine.

I loved this one -- really thought-provoking.

What's the deal with Bowie & fascism? That's new to me.

That's both complicated and disputed.

Here's kind of an intro:

It's a great post, you put into words many thoughts I've had recently, thank you. I didn't connect far right to gnosticism though, because its other elements were much more important for me, but now I see how this uno reverse card can be used to radicalise someone.

So feel free to make this kind of digression, I enjoy it.

How is he connected to gnosticism?

Oh, my bad. Should have explained: Before he went full fascist, he explicitly talked about his connection w/ gnostic Christianity, especially the Cathars.

I cut ties with the dude around Sandy Hook when he started insisting that people disagreeing with him was proof that he was right about the mass shooting never happening. At the time I didn't expect him to become a nazi, but when you look through his posts on sexual polarity you can clearly see that he got set on a mystic idea of gender duality and when he got pushback against it for being simplistic and loaded with toxic ideas, he doubled down and moved further right.

It's a feedback loop.
